GOLDEN – world’s leading brand for professional acrylic paints and mediums

From the beginning of my art career I have been experimenting a lot with different brands of paints and mediums. It was a long journey and I tried quite a few brands I could pick up at my local art store. At the beggining my choices of art materials were quite price sensitive since budget was limited. But I soon realised that the biggest difference in quality of finished artwork is actual quality of the paint and mediums. So early in my creative process I started investing into highest quality paint I could find. I ran across Golden paints, which are quite pricey, but their quality can’t be compared to anything else I used before. Budget limitation was compensated with cheaper brushes, easel and other smaller artist accessories.

GOLDEN Artist Colors history goes back to 1933 when Sam Golden joined his uncle Leonard Bocour and they started producing oil colors for artists. At the time artists such as Barnett Newman, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock and others would go to the shop to get paint. In all these years GOLDEN Artist Colors built a worldwide reputation which is still on the highest level. After I tried GOLDEN, world’s leading brand for professional acrylic paints and mediums, I never looked back. They are priced much higher, but the quality is top notch! The main difference between cheaper hobby acrylic paints and professional grade paints is the actual amount of pigment used in the paint. Pigments are the expensive part of any artist paint. Pigments influence on color saturation, longetivity and durability of paint surface in long term. So the more pigment in the paint, the longer paintings will last without fading. ART RESIN – High-gloss epoxy resin clear coat that makes pieces POP while protecting them.

In 2016 I’ve been brainstorming and searching for new ideas related to fluid painting techinque. And this is how I discovered Art Resin. This high-gloss clear epoxy resin can be used in various ways in art world. I’ve been experimenting with it ever since. It is non-toxic and can be used without a mask, it is also odorless.

On some painitngs I use it as a clear protection coat. The finish is glass like, high-gloss and really adds a premium feel to the artwork. It doesn’t yellow overtime and protects the artwork from UV and dust. I also use it as a base for actual painting. I mix art resin with hardener, than I put the mixture in smaller cups and jars. I than add different pigments to them using mainly GOLDEN High Flow acrylics. I paint directly with this tinted resin mixtures using my hands and blowtorch. The result is amazing. That high-gloss premium finish! I love it!
